Who We Are

Watson Motors, a motor vehicle service and repair workshop, was established on 7 May 2009 by Paul and Glen Watson. This decision to open the workshop was primarily based on the identification of a need to provide motorists with service that is efficient, affordable and of excellent quality.

Paul attended Merchiston Preparatory School and obtained his matric at Maritzburg College and started his career in the motor world as an apprentice at Neil Woolridge Motors in Pietermaritzburg. While at Neil Woolridge Motors he had the good fortune to be included in the Ford Off Road Racing Team. He gained valuable experience in the preparation and maintenance of the Ford Ranger race vehicles and was guided by experienced and knowledgeable people. Paul traveled with the Ford Off Road Racing Team to numerous Off Road Races throughout the country and in Botswana and in Lesotho. Paul then moved to Barloworld Armstrong in Pietermaritzburg and completed his qualification as a motor vehicle technician. While at Barloworld Armstrong he was still a member of the Ford Off Road Racing Team. After qualifying as a motor vehicle technician Paul gained further valuable experience working at Proudfoot 4x4, Harden Auto and at Vehicle Protection Services.

Paul’s father Glen has 35 years experience in local government administration and finance and, after being retrenched in 2007, established a management service cc. Glen has diplomas in Human Resources Management and Project Management and is a member of the Institute of Administration and Commerce.

Watson Motors entered the motor repair market with a unique approach that will benefit the motorist, small business and small business fleets.
